Jon Foster is a veteran of the Army National Guard, where he served on multiple activations during his 6 year service. Since exiting the military in 2016, he has held a number of roles in different fields. Most recently, he worked in business development, where he focused on building relationships and being an active member of the community. This led him to getting involved in the local entrepreneurial community. He has served as an advisor to a few non-profit boards and on the planning committee for some non-profit events. After looking for a veteran networking group only to come up dry, he decided to take action. Thus, after connecting to some other like-minded individuals, VETS was born.
Keith Ward is from a Military family. His Father served in the Army as a tank mechanic in the 60's and passed away on Christmas 2013. Keith has been in the software industry for 30 years (Intel, IBM, consulting, and business owner) and has founded an AI Automation startup. He has used this experience and knowledge to teach, empower, and lead local Sacramento veterans since 2013. Keith ran the Sacramento Chapter of Team Red, White, and Blue for 3 years, during which he was able to gain an even larger appreciation and respect for our Veteran Community and still supports this community to this day.
Tim Swaney is a Navy veteran who served for nearly a decade, deploying twice in dangerous environments. His military experience shaped his leadership, adaptability, and mission-focused approach. When he transitioned in 2019, he realized the sense of purpose and camaraderie he had in the military was missing. Since then, Tim has founded and exited multiple ventures, including a real estate investment company and a cybersecurity firm that he continues to operate, helping veterans build careers in tech. Recognizing the need for a stronger veteran business network, thus VETS was born, a community where veterans and allies connect, share experiences, and support one another in business and beyond.
